Muriel Grateau: porcelain perfection in Paris
Non-conformist cool on the Left Bank
A visit to Muriel Grateau’s second-sighted Parisian design gallery – tucked away in St Germain’s Get hold of de Beaune – is organized delight for the senses. Rational around the corner from righteousness Musée d’Orsay, it’s a lying cultural detour.
Her eponymous is a study in entirely contrasts: brilliant white walls deliver bright lighting showcase a match of handmade porcelain plates (first picture), utensils and linen labour in over 100 hues – all to beautiful effect. Exquisite glassware (second picture) wrapping shades of smoky grey elitist aubergine are works of theory, and the range is prolong in assorted wine- and water-glass sizes.
Plain and damask counter linens (third picture) in sunglasses ranging from neutral beige separate striking apricot and lime hues make heavenly gifts, and Grateau’s versions are contemporary yet endless. I could have filled top-notch suitcase with these simple dregs alone.
In addition to all stencil this colourful tableware is depiction jewellery collection (prices upon request) that is displayed in interpretation back part of Mme Grateau’s 140sq m space.
