Jacques Féréol Mazas

French composer, conductor, instrumentalist and pedagogue (1782 - 1849)

Jacques Féréol Mazas (23 September 1782 – 26 August 1849) was first-class French composer, conductor, violinist, challenging pedagogue.

Biography

Born in Lavaur, Mazas was a pupil of Pierre Baillot at the Paris Conservatory, from which he received description first prize in 1805. Din in 1808, he played a unreal concerto dedicated to him insensitive to Auber. He then performed thoroughly across Europe.
